Launch of PatientsMap China 2018
“Hypertension” is the most commonly seen disease by the physicians in China, followed by “diabetes” and “dyslipidemia”.
On June 4th, 2018, SSRI and M3 will launch PatientsMap China 2018.
PatientsMap Japan, which is updated on an annual basis, is a database from over 20,000 physicians uncovering the type of diseases that they see and its number of patients for approximately 400 different diseases. US version and UK version of PatientsMap are also available, and this Chinese version makes it the 4th country for the PatientMap series.
PatientsMap China 2018 contains data for over 10,000 physicians collected via M3’s Chinese physician portal site medlive.cn
“Hypertension” is the most commonly seen disease by the Chinese physicians
According to PatientsMap 2018 China, “hypertension” is the most commonly seen disease by the Chinese physicians with 70.7% of the physicians answering that they see such patients. “Hypertension” was followed by other life-style diseases such as “diabetes (67.6%)” and “dyslipidemia (54.7%)”.
In comparison to Japan, life-style diseases such as “hypertension” “diabetes” “dyslipidemia” and “gout/hyperuricemia” are commonly seen by physicians in both countries. However in Japan, while allergy related conditions such as “allergic rhinitis” and “bronchial asthma” are commonly seen, in China, non-allergy related respiratory conditions such as “acute upper respiratory tract infection” and “pneumonia” are more commonly seen.
When comparing China and US, lifestyle diseases such as “hypertension” and “diabetes”, along with “acute upper respiratory tract infection” are commonly seen by physicians in both countries.
